Working with the architect from the initial design phase of this custom home, Cynthia designed all the built-in cabinetry, interior architectural details like the entertainment center wall, fireplace, stairway, millwork details and tile layout. She also selected the finishes and fixtures throughout the home (flooring, paint/stain colors, wall-coverings, tile, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, door hardware, cabinetry, cabinetry hardware, millwork, appliances, and counter tops). She designed the lighting and switching plan for the interior and exterior lighting along with fixture selection. She was on-site, as needed, to insure the design intent was implemented with the general contractor and the sub-contractors. Cynthia selected the furniture, area rugs, custom upholstery for the dining nook, custom bedding and window treatments for the home which included motorized screen shades, custom drapery and child-safe window shadings. She was on-site managing the installation of all the furnishings.
The interior has a blend of warm gray tones accented with rustic wood, black millwork and red pops of color. The entire home was designed to be family friendly with comfortable furnishings and performance fabrics and surfaces. In the great room a diamond and herringbone motif are repeated throughout and can be found in the cabinet door glass and brass inserts, drapery fabric, area rug pattern, stairway wood detail, and select furniture. In the master suite, the use of natural fabrics and nature-inspired design elements create a comfortable retreat. In the basement, an indoor golf area was incorporated into the design. The guest bath houses a custom distressed vanity in a peacock color with antique glazing. The peacock color is also accented in the hand-glazed shower tile and custom shower curtain.
